Question about Divine Favor - Guild Wars Forums

After pvp'ing in shiverpeaks for a while then heading out to do Althea's Ashes i started to realise something about my 7 attributes in divine favor....it wasn't working...at all. It would work on me, if i were to buff myself or heal myself it would work, but when i was to cast a buff / heal on a groupmate, nothing. No extra healing, no nothing. For the whole ashes mission (and probably the whole game for me, maybe) my divine favor didn't work at all, except for the spells i casted upon myself. It got fustrating so i dumped smiting and put more into divine favor thinking maybe i should get more. Still the same thing. Started raising questions in my mind about primary monks and how their healing = to secondary monks.

So my question, right, is there an option or something i'm overlooking where divine favor will work on groupmates and all casts on npcs and the like?

Side note, Live Viscorously (sp?) worked about 40% of the time during that mission totally got me killed...i rely on mr tank to keep me healed with his chain 8's. Spell says "Everytime ally hits you gain X hp" didn't work everytime...heh, the fight i died in, it didn't work the entire fight.

I logged off after that as it made me sick in my stomach. Anything will be helpful, if only to speculate...

I don't know what to tell you about the Live Vicariously problem you are talking about. I haven't notice it fail to work with me. I tend to use Divine Boon instead though. I don't really understand how live vicariously got you killed. I've found as a monk it really isn't that hard to get mobs to agro your warriors. As a monk, why weren't you healing yourself?

The Divine favor bonus only shows to the person it is affecting though. If I cast a heal on myself I can see the +?? from the heal and the +?? from divine favor. If I cast a heal on my warrior friend, everyone can see the +?? the heal, but only he can see the +?? from divine favor.

Ah, if divine favor only shows for the target then that means my group was being ignorant. That explains alot.

As for the live viscous thing i purposely let myself die as it wasn't working and to die just to smite the programming. It shoulda worked but didn't and thus, the 11's i was taking was not negated by the small spam of 8's my warrior was suppose to be giving me, according to the spell description, from melee.
